It has consumed several days of work but the great folks at Firethorn have put together a new look for the web site of Mobile International Speedway.
There are several areas that need attention and tweaking to make all fit and read as it should. This will come with time over the next few days.
Right now, it is time to get some racing in and enjoy the weekend.
The MIS crew is in Opp, Alabama for the annual Rattler March 5-6-7 to meet with competitors and race fans.
For Mobile International Speedway the first open practice of the 2010 season is slated for Saturday March 13, 2010. The pit gate will open at 4 pm and the track will be available until 9 pm.
A second open practice session is set for Thursday March 18, 2010 with the pit gate to open at 5 pm and the track available until 9 pm.
Admission to practice is $10.00 each person and minor releases are required.
Opening day is Saturday March 20, 2010 and will feature the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association open wheel winged sprint cars.
The Alabama Pipe and Supply Modified, Bob’s Speed Shop Sportsmen and the Island Motors Bombers will also be on the track opening night.
As you look around the new web pages, keep in mind that there is plenty of work to do to get all information current.
The 2010 schedule however is set with the exception of the details for the September 3 and 4, 2010 Lee Fields Memorial.
Pro Late Models need to make note, the Lee Fields Memorial for 2010 is a 150 lap race and the schedule will involve two days on the track for the PLM’s as well.
Make plans now for the 2010 season of stock car racing over the Mobile International Speedway high banked one-half mile track.
The Sunoco Gulf Coast Championship returns, with Johanna Long defending her season title.
There will be five Miller Lite Super Late Model Races, a second appearance in the fall for the Tampa Bay Area Racing Association open wheel winged sprint cars.
The Sportsmen and Bombers have a full schedule with the Modified and Super Stocks interspersed during the season.
2010 racing at Mobile International Speedway will also feature the Midwest Cooling Tower Services, Inc. Pro Late Models
Finally, the painting, repairing, patching, building, lettering, replacing, installing, sweeping, cleaning, pumping, welding, and mowing continues.
Mobile International Speedway has been host to several race teams so far this season with countless practice laps for cars from all divisions.
